Dye Shopping List:
Although you can complete this DIY for literally two dollars, I have included a go-to shopping list to make sure you have everything you need!
Fabric Dye –
Powder Dye- Purchase on Amazon
The benefits of using powder dye is you can dye more clothing per bottle and is easier to store, I also find that it makes a deeper richer color. I used powder dye for this DIY.
Liquid Dye – Purchase on Amazon
The benefits of liquid dye is that it is pre-mixed and is easier to store, making it easy to use over and over.
Plastic Bag – use one from the grocery store or a ziplock or garbage bag!
Some dyes require salt and dish soap
Tub or Bin – Purchase on Amazon
Avoid dying right in your tub, dye your tub the color (learn from my mistakes!!)
DM @merakibybk or email me email@example.com with any questions! I have used EVERY product I am recommending personally & trust the quality!
Gather your dye, plastic bag, tub etc and decide what you want to dye! In this case I am dying a white shirt I purchased online that was completely see through when it arrived.
Follow the instructions on the dye purchased and prepare your dye bath. Use a paper towel or napkin to test the water to reveal your desired color.
Add your fabric to the dye bath, make sure it is fully submerged and there is no creases. Leave the dress on each side and color for for 15 minutes! The next steps are to rinse your item and hand wash or machine wash, depending on the needs of your item.
